4.15-5.30am – Sunrise Yoga
For the super early birds! Salute the sun with gentle stretching at sunrise with Sion. Bring a mat and blanket (we’ll have a few to share).

4.43am – Sun Up

5.30-9.30am – Breakfast
Fresh and healthy breakfast for early birds; summer fruits, fresh herb teas & flat breads and porridge cooked over the fire by the Grapes Community Food Garden team with Forest Schools leader Jim.

6am – Zen Pilates
A chilled stretch-out with Sophie. Bring a mat.

7.45-8.45am – Tai Chi
Gentle movement with Lis from Friends of Princes Park

12-2pm – Picnic Lunch
We’ll bring the bread, a few tasty salads and the picnic blankets, you bring tasty picnic foods to share. Plus live music with Milena on the balafon!

12-2.30pm – Listening in the Park
Tabitha will host you for 10 minutes of undivided attention. She will listen to whatever you’d like to say.

12-2pm – Draw the Park
Join local park fans and artists Caspar & Ian to draw the park landscape. All materials provided; charcoal, chalk, paper and pencils.

12-6pm – Red Tent Liverpool
Kate and co will be pitching up the beautiful red bell-tent; a sharing space for women and will be promoting their new Radiant Mama project. Breast-feeding mamas very welcome!

4-6pm – Eid Afternoon Tea Party
Celebrate Eid with the fab Family Hive gang with Saba & Waseilah for lots of fun and games for families with children! Face-painting, games, vegetable orchestra, henna hand-painting plus tasty tea, cakes and fruit.

4-7pm – Draw the Park

4-7pm – Looking at the Sun
What does our sun look like ? Add to a collection of sun images shining back from the surface of the earth.

5-7pm – Outdoor Cook-Up
Roll up your sleeves, apron on, and join the Squash community cooks to help make the Solstice Community Feast!

5-7pm – Compostable Wearables
Join Angelica and Tabitha to make natural accessories to activate magic & merriment this solstice night!

6-7pm – Vegetable Orchestra
Learn how to make instruments out of veg and play in the special vegetable orchestra with SoCo; Southampton Community Music Project! 1 hour session. Limited spaces. Sign up from 5.30pm.

7pm – Community Feast
Join the Squash community cooks and neighbours and friends you’ve not yet met to break bread and eat together!

8pm – Community Healing Dance
Connect and move with dance artist Maxine as she draws on influences from Planetary Dance, Somatic dance practice and Vimbuza, and together let’s make a Community Healing Dance

8.30pm – Gong Bath
Immerse yourself in vibrations of nature, crystal and metal as Catherine & Andrew guide you through this special sundown sound journey! Bring a mat, blanket & pillow!

9.44pm – Sunset

All sessions take place by the big oak tree just up from Woodhenge in Princes Park, L8. Enter the park via the Devonshire Rd/Belvedere gate and bear right.

Other activities throughout the day include cooking with a solar oven, rainbow-making, a vegetable orchestra, deck-chair snoozing, fire-making, tree-hugging and making a community of suns. And whatever your thing is – bring it along! All activities are accessible for all and food is free / ‘pay as you feel’ and all donations will go to the ‘Soup-It Forward campaign.

Embrace your inner fire and join us in the park to mark the longest, lightest day of our year; the summer solstice. Everyone is welcome to come and breathe deep, make shapes, enjoy seasonal foods, explore the park, cook over the fire and meet new friends.
